On Sunday, April 20th, Ray Gordon recorded the first hole in one by this
group. His ace was accomplished on the seventeenth hole which played
170 yards on that day. The excitement was a little delayed while the
foursome looked for his ball in the woods behind the green prior to
checking the hole.
In the clubhouse Ray provided beer for all and, believe it or not, actually had
some himself.
( Don't know what that trophy is all about ) The celebration might account
for Ray's very fuzzy photo, or it could possibly be due to the cell phone
photographer. Nice shirt!

Two Guys --- Two Holes
Two Blackmoor members, Bob Squires and Mike Hoopes,
recorded two holes in one while playing two successive rounds
together on two afternoons that were about two weeks apart.
Bob had his on the 4th hole on April 27 and Mike just had his on
the 17th hole on Tuesday, May 13th. Both were firsts for the guys.
Witnessed by other individuals, each of these events have odds of
40,000 to one individually. What are the odds of having it occur in
this manner??? Congratulations to both.
Congratulations Steve King holed his iron shot on
the fifteenth at Blackmoor on Tuesday, April 20th to
record the third ace of the year by a member of the
Blackmoor Mens Association. All the days participants
kicked in at the nineteenth hole and cheers (drinks)
were enjoyed by the group.
Steve is pictured in the center with Felix Costa and
Steve Cortese, two playing partners.
The first Annual Blackmoor Members end of the year dinner party was held November 14th, 2008 at the Litchfield Country Club

with the Blackmoor Members Group. Witnesses
and playing partners were Joe Shepard, Mike
Salmon, and Bill McNelis pictured standing behind
him on his throne in the nineteenth hole. It was the
fourth ace of the year by a member of our group.
Of course liquid cheer was again greatly enjoyed
by the group.
