NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS
Very often, we receive requests from various charitable organizations, and we respond
favorably. Now, we have an opportunity to help our very own neighbors whose entire
world is collapsing around them.
Ernie and Lisa Elliott and their two young children live in the Somersby section of
Blackmoor. Over a year ago, Ernie developed a brain aneurysm, had surgery at MUSC,
and has spent many, many months in rehabilitative treatment.
Unfortunately, Ernie was unable to continue his small electrical business due to his
inability to work. Because of financial constraints, over the past few months, the Elliott’s
have lost their cars, and now have their house up for sale.
As neighbors, we are asking the Blackmoor community to open their hearts and their
wallets to do whatever we can to support these friends and neighbors.
Toward that end, on Sunday, November 23, beginning at 5:00 PM, there will be a
gathering of friends at our Blackmoor clubhouse. While details are still being worked
out, we’re hoping all who attend will bring a finger food, and there are plans for a silent
auction. Donations in any amount will be accepted. ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE
PAYABLE TO THE BLACKMOOR SOCIAL COMMITTEE, which in turn will have a
check written to the Elliott’s.
PLEASE set aside the date – Sunday, November 23. By attending this benefit event, you
not only enjoy an evening surrounded by friends and neighbors, you contribute to the
welfare of a very deserving family. If you are unable to attend, any of the following
neighbors will be happy to accept your check, either in advance or on the evening of the
gathering.
